THE LAUNCH  EDITION OF THE FRANSCHHOEK CLASSIC CAR FESTIVAL WILL TRANSFORM SOUTH AFRICA’S VALLEY OF DREAMS INTO A CORNER OF CLASSIC CAR HEAVEN ON 18 AND 19 NOVEMBER 2023.

Arguably, the highlight of the weekend’s offerings is the ‘Forty of the Finest’ display at the iconic Huguenot Monument on Saturday, 18 November. This display of forty pre-1995 classic cars from forty different brands is possibly a world first and definitely not to be missed! In addition, a number of rare Alfa Romeo’s will also be on display at the monument in celebration of the brand’s fortieth anniversary in South Africa.

Church Street, in the centre of Franschhoek, will be closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday (morning) and filled with classic cars from all over the Cape Winelands. Visitors will be able to freely stroll among cars that are seldom seen in public and possibly even talk to some of the owners.

For the duration of the weekend, ticket holders will also enjoy a special Franschhoek Classic Car Festival rate when visiting the world-renowned Franschhoek Motor Museum at L’Ormarins Wine Estate. Four halls of motoring heaven await visitors here. The highlight of your visit here will probably be the South African Heritage Exhibition on display in Hall B. This exhibition not only includes cars from the museum’s collection but also a number of privately owned ones. It is literally a never-to-be-repeated exhibition that you wouldn’t want to miss. Do note that the discounted entry fee will only be available on presentation of a valid FCCF wristband.

Sunday is parade day at the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival. At 10h00 there will be a parade along Huguenot St featuring dozens of visiting classic cars. The Grand Parade will take place at 12h00. This parade will include cars that were on display in Church St during the morning, a number of supercars and some of the classic cars that were part of the Forty of the Finest display on Saturday.

The Grand Parade will make its way to Hey Joe Brewery outside town where many of the festival participants will enjoy lunch. In the process, they’ll be turning the parking area into another impromptu display!

The Franschhoek Theatre is also joining in the classic car festivities and will be presenting a number of classic car movies during the weekend. For more information on these and to book tickets online visit: www.franschhoektheatre.co.za
