Franschhoek Classic Car Festival returns with two full days at the Huguenot
Monument
The Franschhoek Classic Car Festival returns on 3 and 4 October 2026, bringing together an exceptional collection of classic vehicles, landmark anniversary displays and motoring enthusiasts in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
In an exciting development for this year’s festival, the event will take place over two days at the iconic Huguenot Monument, says Theo Lotter, Founder and CEO of the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival. The historic setting will provide a spectacular backdrop for a weekend celebrating automotive heritage, design and culture. Lotter adds that the two-day stay at the Huguenot Monument will offer visitors more flexibility and contribute to a village festival atmosphere.
The centrepiece of the festival is the Forty of the Finest display, featuring forty iconic vehicles of forty different brands (all pre-1995). Visitors can also look forward to carefully curated displays featuring vehicles from different eras, along with several special exhibitions commemorating important motoring milestones:
● 75 years of Volkswagen in South Africa
● 50 years of the Volkswagen Golf GTI
● 100 years of Mercedes-Benz
● 80 years of Vespa
Land Rover enthusiasts will also be well catered for, with a dedicated Landrover Defender display and a Land Rover parade culminating in an impressive group exhibition. Adding another dimension to the programme will be F1 76, a special Formula 1 celebration tribute honouring the excitement, engineering and enduring appeal of the world’s premier motorsport series.
A selection of food, beverage and speciality vendors will be at the festival throughout the weekend, giving visitors plenty to discover and enjoy between the vehicle displays. From delicious refreshments to distinctive products and motoring-related finds, the vendor offering will contribute to the festival’s relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
More than simply a showcase of remarkable vehicles, the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival offers an opportunity for collectors, enthusiasts, families and visitors to share their passion for motoring in one of South Africa’s most beautiful locations.
